Job summary

ModernMD Urgent Care is seeking a Medical Assistant to support physicians and practitioners by performing patient intake, phlebotomy, EKG, and lab testing. You will also handle charting, specimen processing, and occupational health duties in a fast-paced urgent care setting.

The role emphasizes accurate EMR documentation, patient throughput management, and collaboration with the clinical team to deliver high-quality care. Bilingual abilities are a plus and the clinic offers on-site work.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (minimum).
• Minimum of one year of experience in a healthcare setting, preferably urgent care.
• Strong attention to detail and organization.
• Ability to work with multiple managers and stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
• Fluency in Spanish, Bengali, Arabic, Creole, French or Hindi is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Obtain patient vitals, medical history and consent using our workflow.
• Perform phlebotomy and EKG as needed.
• Execute lab orders, collect and prepare specimens, and conduct point-of-care testing.
• Retrieve lab and test results for provider review and decision making.
• Assist with procedures and setup as directed by the provider.
• Document all clinical services in the EMR accurately and completely.
• Direct patient throughput and maintain orderly back-office flow.
• Support Occupational Health duties and patient care as needed.
• Cross-train as Scribe to update charts and orders.
• Cross-train as PCC to register patients and collect payments.
