Job summary

ModernMD Urgent Care is seeking a Medical Assistant to support physicians and clinicians in patient intake, specimen collection, phlebotomy, and EKG procedures. You will document all clinical services in the EMR, assist with procedures, and ensure efficient patient throughput in a fast-paced urgent care setting.

The role involves administrative duties, cross-training in Scribe and PCC functions, and strong teamwork with the clinical staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year of experience in a healthcare setting, preferably urgent care.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple managers.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and diplomacy skills.
• Fluency in Spanish, Bengali, Arabic, Creole, French, or Hindi is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians and advanced practitioners with patient intake, vitals, phlebotomy, EKG, and specimen collection.
• Prepare and process lab orders, collect and handle specimens, and perform point-of-care testing.
• Document services in the EMR accurately and completely.
• Direct patient flow and maintain timely rooming, examination, and discharge.
• Support cross-training tasks for Scribe and PCC roles as needed.
• Register patients, verify insurance, and collect payments as required.
