Job summary

The Ohio State University Physicians, Inc. is seeking a Medical Assistant to support direct patient care, align with clinical protocols, and assist physicians and nurses in examinations and treatments.

You will room patients, collect specimens, and help prepare exam rooms in a fast-paced outpatient setting. Preferred candidates hold a Medical Assistant program diploma or equivalent, with 1 year of experience; military medic or EMT-P training is a plus.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent along with at least one of the following:
• A diploma from a Medical Assistant Program
• Minimum of 1 year of medical assisting experience
• Military Medic training
• EMT-P (Paramedic) training
• Equivalent of 1 year combined relevant medical assisting experience and education
• Preferences:
• Medical Assistant Certification
• Not certified? - tuition reimbursement program supports certification costs.

Responsibilities

• Room patients, measure and record vital signs (height, weight, temperature, BP, pulse, respiration).
• Complete patient interview and history.
• Prepare patients for examinations, tests and treatments; assist with procedures as ordered by physician.
• May assist in examinations, carry out treatments and special tests.
• Set up equipment and prepare medical treatment rooms for patients.
• Collect samples (blood, urine, sputum) and perform routine laboratory tests.
