Job summary

The Ohio State University Physicians, Inc. is hiring a Medical Assistant to support direct patient care and assist with routine medical procedures.

The role involves rooming patients, recording vital signs, interviewing patients, and preparing exam rooms and equipment for procedures in a fast-paced outpatient setting. Candidates should have a High School Diploma or equivalent and either a MA program diploma or at least one year of medical assisting experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Diploma from a Medical Assistant Program.
• Minimum of 1 year of medical assisting experience.
• Military Medic training.
• EMT-P (Paramedic) training.
• Equivalent of 1 year combined relevant medical assisting experience and education.

Responsibilities

• Room patients, measure and record vital signs (height, weight, temperature, BP, pulse, respiration).
• Complete patient interview and history.
• Prepare patients for examinations, tests and treatments and explain procedures; assist with procedures per physician order.
• May assist in examinations, carry out treatments and specialty tests.
• Set up equipment and prepare medical treatment rooms for patients.
• Collect samples (blood, urine, sputum) and perform routine lab tests.
