Job summary

The Ohio State University Physicians, Inc. is seeking a Medical Assistant to support patient care across outpatient settings. You will room patients, record vital signs, perform history taking, and prepare patients for exams and tests while assisting providers as needed to ensure efficient workflows.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent with one of the listed medical trainings/experience.
• Medical Assistant Program diploma or equivalent certification.
• EMT-P (Paramedic) training or Military Medic training preferred.
• Equivalent of 1 year combined relevant medical assisting experience and education.
• Preference: Medical Assistant Certification.

Responsibilities

• Room patients, measure and record vital signs (height, weight, temperature, BP, pulse, respiration).
• Complete patient interview and history.
• Prepare patients for examinations, tests and treatments; explain procedures; assist as ordered by physician.
• May assist in examinations, carry out treatments and special tests.
• Set up equipment and prepare medical treatment rooms for patients.
• Collect samples (blood, urine, sputum) and perform routine laboratory tests.

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent

Medical Assistant Program diploma

EMT-P (Paramedic) training

Military Medic training

Equivalent of 1 year combined relevant medical assisting experience and education
