Job summary

The Ohio State University Physicians, Inc. is seeking a Medical Assistant to join our outpatient team in Westerville, OH. The role supports direct patient care and assists physicians and nurses in routine examinations, labs, and procedures.

You will room patients, record vital signs, prepare patients for procedures, collect samples, and maintain clean treatment rooms. A Medical Assistant program diploma or equivalent is required to qualify for this position.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent along with at least one of the following:
• A diploma from a Medical Assistant Program
• Minimum of 1 year of medical assisting experience
• Military Medic training
• EMT-P (Paramedic) training
• Equivalent of 1 year combined relevant medical assisting experience and education

Responsibilities

• Room patients, measure and record vital signs, such as height, weight, temperature, blood pressure, pulse and respiration.
• Complete patient interview and history.
• Prepare patients for examinations, tests and treatments and explain procedures. Assists with procedures as ordered by physician.
• May assist in examinations, carry out treatments and special tests.
• Set up equipment and prepare medical treatment rooms for patients.
• Collect samples such as blood, urine and sputum from patients, and perform routine laboratory tests on samples.
