Job summary

The Ohio State University Physicians, Inc. is seeking a Medical Assistant to support direct patient care in our outpatient network. You will room patients, document vital signs, and assist physicians with examinations and routine laboratory tasks.

Ideal candidates hold a High School Diploma or equivalent, plus a Medical Assistant program diploma or relevant experience. Certification is preferred, with tuition reimbursement and a competitive benefits package offered.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent along with at least one of the following.
• A diploma from a Medical Assistant Program.
• Minimum of 1 year of medical assisting experience.
• Military Medic training or EMT-P (Paramedic) training.
• Equivalent of 1 year combined relevant medical assisting experience and education.

Responsibilities

• Room patients and record vital signs, such as height, weight, temperature, blood pressure.
• Complete patient interview and history.
• Prepare patients for examinations, tests and treatments and explain procedures.
• Assist with examinations, carry out treatments and special tests as ordered.
• Set up equipment and prepare medical treatment rooms for patients.
• Collect samples such as blood, urine and sputum and perform routine lab tests.
