Job summary

The Ohio State University Physicians, Inc. is seeking a Medical Assistant to support direct patient care in a fast-paced outpatient setting. You will room patients, record vital signs, interview and document medical histories, and assist physicians with examinations and procedures.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent with MA program diploma or relevant experience.
• Minimum of 1 year of medical assisting experience.
• EMT-P or Military Medic training acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Room patients and record vital signs such as height, weight, temperature, BP, pulse and respiration.
• Complete patient interview and history.
• Prepare patients for examinations, tests and treatments and explain procedures.
• Assist with examinations, carry out treatments and special tests as ordered by physician.
• Set up equipment and prepare medical treatment rooms for patients.
• Collect samples such as blood, urine and sputum; perform routine laboratory tests.
