Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Graduated from an accredited medical assistant or phlebotomy program.
• 0–1 year related work experience (0–1 year required, 2–4 preferred).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire.
• Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing.
• Proficient computer skills and ability to organize multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Prepares examination room and escorts patient to room.
• Maintains efficient patient flow and prepares pertinent information for visits.
• Documents vitals and updates EHR with allergies and medications.
• Contacts or directs calls; schedules appointments per guidelines.
• Assists physician/PA/NP with procedures and provides care per scope of practice.
• Provides scribing services when needed.
