Job summary

Summit Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to support physicians, PAs and NPs with patient care, clinical tasks and clerical duties in a fast-paced, patient-centric setting in New Rochelle, NY. You will assist with rooming patients, vital signs, specimen collection, and documentation in the EHR while ensuring smooth patient flow and accurate scheduling.

Must graduate from an accredited MA/Phlebotomy program with 0-1 year experience; BLS is required, English communication must be strong, and

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Graduation from an accredited medical assistant or phlebotomy program is required.
• 0-1 year related work experience required.
• 2-4 years related work experience preferred.
• BLS certification or within 30 days of hire is required.
• Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing, required.
• Ability to organize and perform multiple tasks in a timely manner, required.
• Basic proficiency in computer use is required.
• Travel: Ability to commute to satellite offices as needed, required.

Responsibilities

• Prepares the examination room.
• Escorts patient into the room.
• Cleans examination room when exam is complete.
• Maintains efficient patient flow.
• Ensures proper preparation for patient visit.
• Documents information in the EHR.
• Reviews and updates medication list and allergies in EHR.
• Schedules appointments according to guidelines.
• Assists in ordering and stocking supplies.
• Provides referrals and/or consult orders as needed.
• Adheres to universal safety precautions during medication administration.
