Job summary

Thomas Jefferson University Hospitals, Inc. seeks a Medical Assistant to assist physicians during examinations and treatments, manage patient flow, and support diagnostic procedures such as EKGs, phlebotomy, and injections.

You will maintain supplies, document vital signs and medical histories, adhere to HIPAA, and coordinate with staff to ensure excellent patient care in a busy Philadelphia office. This is a regular full-time role requiring a HS diploma and MA certification within 6 months,

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalent required.
• Medical Assistant Certification must be obtained within 6 months of hire.
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association must be obtained within 90 days of hire. BLS through the American Red Cross may be acceptable at some Pennsylvania practice locations.
• Experience in physician office or other healthcare setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians with assessments, exams, and treatments.
• Manage patient flow and perform diagnostics such as EKGs, phlebotomy, injections, and vitals.
• Serve as liaison to physicians to ensure patient satisfaction.
• Maintain and order supplies for the area.
• Record vital signs and medical history information.
• Adhere to HIPAA privacy and security requirements.
