Job summary

Jefferson University Physicians is seeking a qualified Medical Assistant to support physicians in patient assessments, exams, and treatment, manage patient flow, and coordinate diagnostic procedures such as EKGs, venipuncture, and injections. The role requires HS diploma or equivalent, MA certification within 6 months, and BLS within 90 days.

Prior experience in a physician office is preferred; full-time in Philadelphia, PA.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalent required.
• Medical Assistant Certification must be obtained within 6 months of hire.
• BLS certification within 90 days of hire (AHA preferred).
• Experience in physician office or healthcare setting preferred.
• For NJ only: Graduate of accredited program with injections training.
• For Einstein internal applicants: MA certification not required if transferring prior to 7/1/2024.

Responsibilities

• Interact with co-workers, visitors, and other staff per Jefferson values.
• Escort patients to exam rooms and verify proper identification.
• Perform and document vital signs and medizin history information.
• Assist physicians with examinations and diagnostic procedures including EKG and venipuncture/injections.
• Adhere to HIPAA privacy and security requirements.
• Order clinical supplies to maintain inventory.
