Job summary

Jefferson Health in Pennsylvania is seeking a Medical Assistant to support physicians in examinations, patient flow management, and a variety of diagnostic procedures including EKGs, phlebotomy, and injections. The role requires a HS diploma, certification within 6 months, and BLS within 90 days of hire.

You will assist with patient care, document vitals, and ensure accurate charting while adhering to HIPAA.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalent required.
• Medical Assistant Certification must be obtained within 6 months of hire.
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association within 90 days of hire.
• Experience in physician office or healthcare setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interacts with co-workers and patients, escorting patients to exam rooms and ensuring proper identification.
• Performs and documents vital signs and basic clinical procedures.
• Assists physicians with examinations and diagnostic procedures, including EKGs and venipuncture when needed.
• Maintains HIPAA privacy and security requirements and manages supply orders for the office.
