Job summary

Trinity Health IHA Medical Group is seeking a compassionate Medical Assistant to support providers in delivering high-quality patient care. You will work directly with patients, assist with clinical procedures, and help coordinate care to ensure a positive health-care experience.

The role emphasizes patient preparation, vital signs, exams, testing, and education while collaborating with a mission-driven team in Southeast Michigan.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED and completion of accredited MA program with externship/internship; EMT or Paramedic program; or Certified Athletic Trainer.
• Credentials/License: MA-Non-Credentialed I or MA-Credentialed I with CMA/RMA/NCMA/CCMA/NRCMA/CMAC certification; CPR.
• Minimum Experience: 0-1 year clinical experience or 2+ years in community clinic with testing/skills.
• Maintenance: current MA re-certification CEUs if credentialed.

Responsibilities

• Welcome and prepare patients for appointments.
• Collect and document patient histories, vital signs, and health information.
• Assist providers with exams, procedures, testing, and specimen collection.
• Administer medications and perform diagnostic testing as directed.
• Communicate test results and provider instructions to patients.
• Provide patient and family education to support better health outcomes.
• Coordinate care and liaise between patients and providers.
• Support quality improvement and disease management programs.
