Job summary

CGH Medical Center is seeking a Medical Assistant to join our team. The role involves assisting physicians and nurses, preparing patients for exams, and supporting scheduling and referrals in a busy medical office.

Ideal candidates hold CMA/RMA/NCMA certifications with BLS within 30 days of hire. Experience in phlebotomy and EKG leads is preferred, and comfort with basic computer systems is required for charting and patient communication.

Qualifications

• Current MA certification from CMA, RMA, or NCMA required.
• BLS must be completed within 30 days of hire and maintained.
• Prior medical assistant experience preferred.
• Basic computer skills required for filing, scheduling and records.
• Phlebotomy and placing EKG leads experience preferred.
• Ability to provide age-appropriate care for pediatric to geriatric patients.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic patient care under physician or nurse supervision.
• Prepare patients for examination by provider.
• Record observations and progress notes as directed.
• Educate patients and families on medications and treatments.
• Schedule appointments and referrals; perform receptionist duties as needed.
• Support office operations related to referrals and filing.
