Job summary

Genesis HealthCare System seeks a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join a physician-office setting in the GCMC Specialty Center. The role supports clinical staff, coordinates patient care, and acts as a liaison among patients, families, and providers.

The position requires high school diploma (or equivalent) and CMA/RMA certification or eligibility, with knowledge of medical terminology, lab procedures, and coding systems. CPR may be required within 30 days.

Qualifications

• Requires CMA or RMA certification or eligibility; NHA certification path provided.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and laboratory techniques.
• Understanding of coding/reimbursement systems (ICD, CPT).
• Ability to analyze clinical data and communicate effectively with patients/families.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians with examinations and office procedures.
• Schedule diagnostic tests, surgeries and pre-admission testing.
• Perform screening and CLIA-waived tests and phlebotomy.
• Administer medications and immunizations as directed by physician.
• Document patient information, vital signs, and treatments.
