Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited medical assistant program preferred.
• Will accept applicants with healthcare experience (EMT, LNA, etc.).
• Certification or registration encouraged within the first three years.
• No prior healthcare experience required; 1 year preferred for some candidates.

Responsibilities

• Answers phone and directs calls per practice guidelines.
• Interviews patients and measures vital signs.
• Updates medications and allergy lists.
• Records information in the EMR.
• Prepares treatment rooms and stocks supplies.
• Assists provider during examinations and procedures.
• Schedules appointments and processes referrals.
• Maintains and labels medical supplies for assigned area.
• Uses Cerner and GroupWise for documentation per protocol.
