Job summary

Concord Hospital Health System is seeking a Medical Assistant to support providers, measure vital signs, and document in the EMR. The role includes patient intake, preparing exam rooms, and assisting with procedures in a fast-paced outpatient setting.

The ideal candidate has completed a Medical Assistant program or relevant healthcare experience, and holds BLS/CPR certification. On-site work with opportunities to grow clinical skills within the practice.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred but will accept applicants with healthcare experience.
• Current American Heart Association BLS/CPR certification or equivalent is required; certification encouraged within first 3 years.
• No experience required with completed MA program; healthcare experience of at least 1 year is preferred for other candidates.

Responsibilities

• Answers phone per guidelines, identifies health concerns, and directs calls.
• Interviews patients and records vital signs and medications in EMR.
• Prepares treatment rooms and assists with examinations and procedures.
• Assists providers by preparing patients for exams and procedures.
• Maintains clinical skills and follows practice protocols.
• Schedules appointments and processes referrals per guidelines.
• Manages inventories and labeling of medical supplies.
• Uses Cerner and GroupWise for documentation and test orders.
• Greets patients and escorts to exam rooms.
• Prepares instruments for sterilization and maintains cleanliness.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Performs job-specific duties as required.
