Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited medical assistant program or healthcare experience.
Current American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Providers or Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers and Health Care Providers.
Completion of accredited Medical Assistant program; 1 year healthcare experience preferred for other candidates.

Responsibilities

Interviews patients and measures vital signs.
Updates patient medications and allergy lists.
Records information in the EMR.
Prepares treatment rooms for examination of patients, including stocking and cleaning.
Assists provider by preparing patients for examinations and by assisting with procedures.
Schedules patient appointments and processes referrals.
