Job summary

North American Medical Associates is seeking a Medical Assistant to provide excellent customer service and support to our clinical team. You will interact with patients, collect specimens, record vitals, and assist in procedures while maintaining accuracy in EMR documentation.

You will also handle front-office duties, maintain supplies, and support inventory management. Travel between offices may be required to ensure coverage and smooth operations.

Qualifications

• Current certificate from an accredited NJ, PA or DE Medical Training School.
• Current CPR certification.
• 2+ years of experience working for a healthcare practice or hospital.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Escort patients to and from exam/procedure rooms.
• Collect urine specimens at each visit, and process according to visit guidelines.
• Record patient information such as vital signs, height/weight, and changes in medical history at each appointment.
• Medication Reconciliation in EMR.
• Communicate to providers using the EMR to change the status of the room patients are assigned and do verbal handoff to providers on patient status prior to the visit.
• Assist providers with minor procedures.
• Collecting and updating patient HX and medical records.
• Clean, stock, and prepare examination rooms prior to patient appointments.
• Work in the front office taking care of tasks such as answering phone calls, greeting patients as they enter office, and maintaining patient records.
• Assist the nurse and office manager in maintaining the medical inventory and placing orders for new materials as needed.
• Administer medications under the supervision and direction of the provider.
• Prepare equipment for sterilization.
• Maintain patient confidentiality, comply with HIPAA and compliance guidelines established by the practice.
• Always maintain good customer service in all situations.
• Occasional travel between offices is required for cross coverage of our practice locations.
