Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is hiring a Medical Assistant to support physicians, nurses, and staff by facilitating patient flow and providing clinical and administrative assistance. You will help with vitals, ECGs, venipuncture, immunizations, and room preparation, while maintaining a safe, organized clinic environment.

A CMA/RMA/NCMA/CCMA/NRCMA certification within six months and BLS/CPR are required; 0–2 years of experience is acceptable, with strong computer skills essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Certification in CMA/RMA/NCMA/CCMA/NRCMA must be obtained within six months of employment.
• BLS/CPR certification is required.
• 0–2 years of relevant experience is acceptable.
• Strong computer skills are essential in this role.

Responsibilities

• Ensure efficient patient flow through the clinic and assist with patient prep and vitals per standards.
• Assist practitioners with ECGs, venipuncture, immunizations, and specimen collection.
• Maintain clean, stocked exam rooms and manage inventory of vaccines/medications.
• Support the patient care team and communicate effectively with patients and staff.
• Perform delegated procedures safely and in compliance with protocols.
• Complete any other duties assigned by supervisor or manager.
