Job summary

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 0-1 years related work experience required.
• Basic familiarity with computers; ability to navigate web-based applications.
• MA, EMT, CNA, LNA certificate or diploma; or at least 5 months of direct patient care experience (MA/PCT/CNA).

Responsibilities

• Performs medical assisting duties: vital signs, EKGs, phlebotomy, and assists during routine procedures.
• Keeps patient care areas clean, stocked, and ready for use; escorts patients to radiology and lab as needed.
• Reviews medication lists in the EMR for licensed practitioners; may retrieve Schedule VI and OTC meds under supervision.
• Performs point-of-care testing and ensures quality control of testing equipment.
• Uses EMR to queue prescriptions and document tasks for billing.
• Schedules diagnostic and lab tests and verifies insurance requirements.
• Prepares schedules and charts for clinical activities; procures medical correspondence.
• Performs check-in, verifies demographics, collects copayments, and handles proxies/forms.
• Records visit dispositions and manages patient flow and wait times.
