Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking an entry-level Medical Assistant to support clinical and administrative tasks in a fast-paced practice. Responsibilities include taking vital signs, performing phlebotomy, chart preparation, and patient check-in/offices coordination.

The role involves assisting with basic tests, monitoring supplies, and ensuring smooth patient flow while using the EMR system. A high school diploma or equivalent, and relevant certificate or 0-1 year of experience are required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 0-1 years related work experience required.
• Basic familiarity with computers; basic web-app navigation.

Responsibilities

• Performs medical assisting duties (vital signs, EKGs, phlebotomy, routine procedures).
• Keeps patient care areas clean, organized and stocked; escorts patients to radiology and lab as needed.
• Reviews medication lists in EMR; queues renewals and enters orders under supervision.
• Prepares schedules, charts and documents for clinical activities; handles administrative tasks as needed.
• Manages waiting room flow and communicates delays to patients and staff.
