Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health seeks a Medical Assistant to provide high-quality, direct patient care in a team-based model for BIDHC patients. You will support efficient administrative and clinical practice operations under supervision, maintaining PHI safety and accurate EHR documentation.

You will coordinate with the care team to ensure smooth patient flow, perform vital signs, phlebotomy, immunizations where eligible, and contribute to population health goals through outreach and coaching.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 6 months clinical classroom.

Responsibilities

• Develops empathetic relationships with patients, families and colleagues to contribute to patient care.
• Assists patient through visit, communicates delays, and informs provider of visit reason.
• Provides clear hand-offs to the provider and documents during the visit for billing.
• Performs medical assisting duties (vital signs, EKGs, phlebotomy, immunizations as eligible).
• Leads outreach for population health goals and health coaching.
• Maintains equipment and supplies, ensuring cleanliness, sterility and expiry checks.
• Uses the EHR to queue prescriptions, enter orders, and document tasks for billing.
• Schedules diagnostic and lab tests and verifies insurance including referrals.

Education
