Job summary

Corewell Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to join the Pennock Orthopedics & Pain Center team in Hastings, MI. This full-time role supports clinicians, handles patient intake, and delivers high-quality clinical care in a fast-paced outpatient setting.

The position requires MA training or hands-on experience, BLS certification within 90 days, and a CMA/RMA/CCMA/NCMA/NRCMA credential within 120 days. A sign-on bonus is offered for external applicants.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Successful completion of an accredited Medical Assistant training program OR 1 year of direct patient care experience in MA scope.
• 1 year of relevant experience in a physician practice or healthcare setting preferred.
• AHA/ARC BLS certification required within 90 days of start.
• One of CMA, RMA, CCMA, NCMA, NRCMA within 120 days.

Responsibilities

Scope of Work

As a Medical Assistant with Corewell Health, you'll be a member of our clinical support team and work closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure the delivery of the best possible care. You'll be a vital part of our team, making a real difference in the lives of our patients.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent Required
• Successful completion of an accredited Medical Assistant training program that includes hands-on, in-person clinical skills OR a minimum of one (1) year of experience working specifically in the role of a Medical Assistant, LPN, Paramedic or EMT performing direct patient care and clinical support functions consistent with an MA scope of practice Required
• 1 year of relevant experience in a physician practice or healthcare setting Preferred
• AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification Required within 90 Days

• One of the following Required within 120 Days
• AAMA Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)
• AMT Registered Medical Assistant (RMA)
• NHA Certified Medical Assistant (CCMA)
• NCCT Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA)
