Job summary

Madison Medical is seeking a Medical Assistant to support physicians in the Mequon clinic (WI) with occasional travel to Milwaukee. The role involves rooming, vitals, injections, and point-of-care testing, following Madison Medical standards and procedures.

You will manage exams, documentation, and patient communication while ensuring a safe and well-stocked environment. Prior authorization and routine medication help are included in daily tasks.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Graduate of accredited Medical Assistant program or equivalent.
• Current Medical Assistant certification or LPN licensure preferred but not required.
• Current CPR certification is required.
• Strong data entry skills and ability to work with computer applications.
• Organized with attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication with patients, peers, and physicians.

Responsibilities

• Escort patients to exam room and document brief history with vitals.
• Stay current on EHR changes and ensure accurate documentation.
• Manage calls, messages, and check EHR/email regularly for patient care.
• Organize exam rooms, maintain clean, safe, stocked environment.
• Assist with procedures, sterile fields, and medication administration.
• Provide basic patient education and assist with prior authorizations per MD protocols.

Medical Assistant

A Medical Assistant provides quality patient care by assisting the physician with clinic specific tasks, including rooming, vitals, injections, and point of care testing and treatment. This position follows Madison Medical specific standards of practice, policies and procedures. This full time position reports to the Clinic Supervisor/Regional Director of Clinic Operations, is within Urology, and is located in Mequon, WI with occasional travel to Milwaukee, WI.

What You'll Do:

• Escorts patients to exam room as scheduled, completes brief history through appropriate documentation, and obtains accurate vital signs.
• Stays current on electronic health records (EHR) changes and ensures appropriate and effective documentation in patient records.
• Ensures excellent and timely care for patients - manages phone calls and messages efficiently, checks EHR and email regularly.
• Organizes and prepares exam rooms and maintains a clean, safe, and well stocked environment.
• Performs procedure specific tasks such as preparing a sterile field, assisting with procedures, administration of specialized medications, and advanced specialty specific tasks.
• Administers routine medications. Performs specialty specific point of care testing such as Urinalysis.
• Provides basic patient education.
• Refills medications or obtains prior authorizations according to MD protocols or as directed by physician
• Schedules appointments as needed.

Key Qualifications & Characteristics

• High School Diploma or GED
• Graduate of accredited Medical Assistant program, or military equivalent, or demonstrated skills in capacity for at least one year
• Current Medical Assistant certification or LPN Licensure preferred but not required
• Current CPR certification
• Strong data entry skills and ability to work with computer applications
• Organized with a strong attention to detail in a fast paced environment
• Strong and comfortable communicating with patients, peers, and physicians

• Demonstrated ability to work well both independently and with co-workers in a team
