Ascension’s Jacksonville facility is seeking a Medical Assistant to support clinical and front-desk operations. The role involves preparing patients for exams, assisting physicians during procedures, and accurately documenting histories and vital signs in patient charts.

You will also handle room prep, supplies, and essential clerical tasks to ensure smooth clinic flow. The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent (or 1 year of relevant experience) and be BLS certified

• BLS Provider required within 30 days of hire, American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Prepare patients for examination and assist the physician with medical procedures and treatments.

• Manage clinical logistics, including preparing treatment rooms and maintaining supplies and equipment.
• Perform essential clerical duties, such as answering phones, filing, and maintaining patient records.

Licensure / Certification / Registration

• Required Credential(s):
  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Preferred Credential(s):
  • Certified Medical Assistant credentialed from the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA). Nat'l Medical Assistant (MA) Certification - CMA (Cert. Medical Assistant), RMA (Registered Medical Assistant)/AAMA Cert. (American Association of Medical Assistants). NCCT, AAMA, or AMT are acceptable certification sites. Completion of Basic Machine Operators (BMO) cert. preferred. Current registration with State of FL as a BMO Operator preferred.
  • Medical Assistant.

Education

• High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required. *Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.
