Ascension Pediatrics in Indiana is seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant for a full-time, days schedule (Monday–Friday, 8a–4:30p). You will assist providers with clinical duties, interview patients, take vital signs, and perform essential clerical tasks in a fast-paced clinic.

Requirements include a High School diploma or equivalent and Medical Assistant certification or BLS training within specified timelines. Join Ascension and contribute to compassionate pediatric care.

• High School diploma equivalency or 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
• BLS Provider certification and Medical Assistant certification/registration are required per hire criteria.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Assists with treatments ordered by provider as supervised by provider or registered nurse. Performs select clinical duties.
• Interviews patients, measures vital signs, and records information on patients' charts. Prepares treatment rooms for examination of patients.
• Performs basic clerical duties including answering the phone, maintaining records, and filing.
• Performs basic materials management functions to include ordering and stocking of supplies. Assists with maintaining a clean and orderly environment.
• May document the provider's encounter with patients. Lists all proper diagnoses and symptoms, as well as follow-up instructions and prescriptions, as indicated by the provider. Transcribes patient orders including, but not limited to, laboratory tests, radiology tests and medications.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration

• Required Credential(s):
  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Medical Assistant obtained within 3 Months (90 days) of hire date or job transfer date. Certified or Registered both accepted.

Education

• High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required. *Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.
