Job summary

Hartford HealthCare Medical Group is seeking a Medical Assistant to provide clinical and clerical support across multiple CT practice locations, including Cheshire, Meriden, Bristol, North Haven and Southington. The role includes direct patient care under a provider, vitals, screenings, health history, and care coordination.

Education includes a Medical Assistant diploma or CT CNA/EMT/Paramedic certification, BLS within 90 days, and maintained credentials.

Qualifications

Diploma from an accredited Medical Assistant program OR an active CT CNA, EMT, Paramedic or Medic Certification.
Certified BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 3 Months (90 days) of hire date or job transfer date.
All required credentials to be maintained throughout employment.
EPIC EMR experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Provides basic clinical and clerical support in the delivery of patient care within the Medical Assistant scope of education.
Provides direct patient care under direction of provider, including vitals, allergy/medical reconciliation, screenings and health history.
Schedules, check in/out, referrals, chart prep and prior authorizations; conducts point of care testing with QC and documentation.
Regular travel between Cheshire, Meriden, Bristol, North Haven and Southington locations for operational support.
