Job summary

Hartford HealthCare Medical Group is seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to provide clinical and clerical support in patient care across Connecticut and Rhode Island locations. The role includes vitals, basic care, and performance of point-of-care testing under a provider's supervision.

Qualifications

• Diploma from an accredited Medical Assistant program or CT CNA/EMT/Paramedic certification.
• Certified BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association within 3 Months (90 days) of hire date.
• All required credentials to be maintained throughout employment.
• At least one year of direct patient care experience may be considered in lieu of education; MA externship preferred; EPIC EMR experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care under direction of provider, including vitals, history, screenings and health maintenance.
• Conducts point of care testing including quality control and documentation.
• Assists providers with in-house procedures as needed.
• Under direction of providers and nurses, provides other treatments and care appropriate to training.
• Prepares and assists patients undergoing treatments, and floats to other offices as needed.
• Provides administrative support including scheduling, chart prep, referrals, check in/out, prior authorizations and transportation assistance; covers front desk.
