Job summary

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited medical assistant program.
• Must obtain CMA, RMA, NCMA, CCMA, NRCMA, or NPCE MA certifications within 12 months.
• BLS certification required within 3 months of hire.
• Mandatory Reporter abuse training within 3 months of hire.
• Proficient in Windows and MS Office.
• Able to read, write, and communicate in English.
• Ability to work in a collaborative, shared leadership environment.

Responsibilities

• Deliver patient care through preparation, vital signs, and documentation.
• Administer medications, treatments, and immunizations under provider direction.
• Prepare and organize patient charts and complete documentation.
• Schedule procedures, labs, x-rays, and surgeries; provide pre- and post-surgery information.
• Coordinate physician schedules and ensure insurance pre-certifications.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to standards and policies.
• Educate patients and families based on discharge plans.
• Assist with training, orientation, and cross-coverage as needed.
• Document care plans and escalate non-routine issues.
• Ensure safety checklists/quality controls are completed.
