Job summary

Community Health Network in Indianapolis is seeking a Medical Assistant to support providers in ambulatory care sites, assist with patient visits, and coordinate routine tasks to maintain smooth clinic flow.

You will prepare exam rooms, take vital signs, and perform point of care testing while documenting in EPIC EMR and participating in quality initiatives to improve patient outcomes.

Strong teamwork, empathy, and attention to detail are essential to delivering exceptional care in our community.

Qualifications

  • Graduate/certificate of completion from a recognized medical assisting program OR a High School Diploma/GED + one year of medical assistant experience in a physician practice within the past three years.
  • Medical Assistant certification required within 6 months of hire
  • Prepare exam rooms and treatment areas for patient use including required cleaning and stocking of supplies
  • Room patients and manage an efficient flow of provider’s caseload
  • Obtain necessary vital signs, EKGs, and/or specimen collection
  • Participate in specialty care and infectious disease processes with sensitivity & compassion
  • Documentation of care using the EPIC EMR system
  • Perform Point of Care Testing based on patient’s chief complaint and available protocols
  • Process referrals and medication refills
  • Maintain positive relationships with patients, providers, and staff

Responsibilities

  • The Medical Assistant will be responsible for assisting the provider of an ambulatory health care site with facilitation of patient visit and procedures, routine laboratory tests, referrals, and quality outcomes for the population of the practice.
  • As an MA, you will also get to actively participate in Network quality initiatives regarding best practices
