Job summary

Community Health Network in Indianapolis is seeking a Medical Assistant to support ambulatory care teams by facilitating patient visits, performing routine labs, and coordinating referrals and outcomes.

You will prepare exam rooms, collect specimens, document in EPIC EMR, and participate in quality initiatives while maintaining positive relationships with patients and colleagues.

Qualifications

• Graduate/certificate from a recognized medical assisting program OR a High School Diploma/GED + one year of medical assistant experience in a physician practice within the past three years.
• Medical Assistant certification required within 6 months of hire.
• Prepare exam rooms and treatment areas for patient use including required cleaning and stocking of supplies.
• Room patients and manage an efficient flow of provider's caseload.
• Obtain necessary vital signs, EKGs, and/or specimen collection.
• Documentation of care using the EPIC EMR system.
• Perform Point of Care Testing based on patient's chief complaint and available protocols.
• Process referrals and medication refills.
• Maintain positive relationships with patients, providers, and staff.

Responsibilities

Make a Difference

The Medical Assistant will be responsible for assisting the provider of an ambulatory health care site with facilitation of patient visit and procedures, routine laboratory tests, referrals, and quality outcomes for the population of the practice. As an MA, you will also get to actively participate in Network quality initiatives regarding best practices.
