Job summary

The Community Health Network is hiring a Medical Assistant for our Indianapolis ambulatory site. You will support providers with patient visits, labs, referrals, and care coordination, while ensuring efficient clinic flow.

Ideal candidates have a medical assisting credential or HS diploma with MA experience, and certification within 6 months of hire. Proficiency with EPIC EMR, EKGs, and POCT is preferred; strong communication and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of medical assisting program or HS diploma with MA experience in physician practice.
  • Medical Assistant certification required within 6 months of hire.
  • Prepare exam rooms and stock supplies; manage flow of provider’s caseload.
  • Document care using the EPIC EMR system.
  • Perform Point of Care Testing per protocol.
  • Maintain positive relationships with patients, providers, staff.

Make a Difference

The Medical Assistant will be responsible for assisting the provider of an ambulatory health care site with facilitation of patient visit and procedures, routine laboratory tests, referrals, and quality outcomes for the population of the practice. As an MA, you will also get to actively participate in Network quality initiatives regarding best practices.

Exceptional Skills and Qualifications

Applicants for this position should be able to collaborate with others in a team setting, have excellent communication skills, and a positive attitude toward problem-solving.

  • Graduate/certificate of completion from a recognized medical assisting program OR a High School Diploma/GED + one year of medical assistant experience in a physician practice within the past three years.
  • Medical Assistant certification required within 6 months of hire
  • Prepare exam rooms and treatment areas for patient use including required cleaning and stocking of supplies
  • Room patients and manage an efficient flow of provider’s caseload
  • Obtain necessary vital signs, EKGs, and/or specimen collection
  • Documentation of care using the EPIC EMR system
  • Perform Point of Care Testing based on patient’s chief complaint and available protocols
  • Process referrals and medication refills
  • Maintain positive relationships with patients, providers, and staff
