Job summary

Community Health Network in Indianapolis is seeking a Medical Assistant to support providers at an ambulatory care site. You will assist with patient visits, basic procedures, and coordinate referrals while maintaining efficient clinic flow.

Qualifications

• Graduate/certificate of completion from a recognized medical assisting program or equivalent

Responsibilities

• Prepare exam rooms and treatment areas, including cleaning and stocking
• Room patients and manage provider workflow
• Obtain vital signs, EKGs, and specimen collection
• Documentation of care using the EPIC EMR system
• Perform point-of-care testing based on patient’s chief complaint and protocols
• Process referrals and medication refills
• Maintain positive relationships with patients, providers and staff

Make a Difference

The Medical Assistant will be responsible for assisting the provider of an ambulatory health care site with facilitation of patient visit and procedures, routine laboratory tests, referrals, and quality outcomes for the population of the practice. As an MA, you will also get to actively participate in Network quality initiatives regarding best practices.

• Graduate/certificate of completion from a recognized medical assisting program OR a High School Diploma/GED + one year of medical assistant experience in a physician practice within the past three years.

• Room patients and manage an efficient flow of provider’s caseload
