Job summary

Community Health Network is hiring a Medical Assistant to support ambulatory care teams. The role involves assisting providers during visits, conducting routine labs, coordinating referrals, and contributing to performance quality initiatives.

You will room patients, collect vitals and specimens, document in EPIC EMR, and help maintain efficient clinic operations while upholding compassionate patient care.

Qualifications

• Graduate/certificate of completion from a recognized medical assisting program or a HS diploma/GED plus one year MA experience in a physician practice within the past three years.
• Medical Assistant certification required within 6 months of hire

Responsibilities

• Assist the provider with patient visits and procedures at an ambulatory health care site.
• Facilitate routine lab tests, referrals, and quality outcomes for the practice population.
• Collaborate with team to participate in Network quality initiatives.
• Room patients and maintain an efficient flow of the provider's caseload.
• Obtain vital signs, EKGs, and specimen collection.
• Document care using the EPIC EMR system.
• Perform Point of Care Testing according to protocols.
• Process referrals and medication refills.
• Maintain positive relationships with patients, providers, and staff.

Make a Difference

The Medical Assistant will be responsible for assisting the provider of an ambulatory health care site with facilitation of patient visit and procedures, routine laboratory tests, referrals, and quality outcomes for the population of the practice. As an MA, you will also get to actively participate in Network quality initiatives regarding best practices.

• Graduate/certificate of completion from a recognized medical assisting program OR a High School Diploma/GED + one year of medical assistant experience in a physician practice within the past three years.
• Medical Assistant certification required within 6 months of hire
• Prepare exam rooms and treatment areas for patient use including required cleaning and stocking of supplies
• Room patients and manage an efficient flow of provider's caseload
• Obtain necessary vital signs, EKGs, and/or specimen collection
• Documentation of care using the EPIC EMR system
• Perform Point of Care Testing based on patient's chief complaint and available protocols
• Process referrals and medication refills
• Maintain positive relationships with patients, providers, and staff
