Job summary

HCA Healthcare’s CareNow is seeking an NCT - Medical Assistant PRN to support urgent care operations. You will perform clinical tasks, assist with imaging, handle patient check-in/out, and document in the EHR. An emphasis on patient-centered care and teamwork drives the role.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma, relevant MA program completion, and state-specific radiology licensing. BLS is required within 30 days, with certifications and screenings completed within stated timelines.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of clinical experience in a patient care setting is helpful.
• Experience using an EHR system is beneficial.
• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Graduate of an accredited school of Medical Assistants or completion of an approved program (BOTP) is required.
• GMRT, LMRT, or NCT license required in state of residency.
• AAMA certification preferred.
• BLS certification required within 30 days of start.
• Must obtain Federal Breath Alcohol Screening and Federal Drug Screening Certification within 3 months.

Responsibilities

• Take vital signs, collect lab specimens, perform EKGs, and administer IM injections.
• Perform x-ray/imaging services according to provider’s orders and update patient charts.
• Collect patient history and document in EHR.
• Apply splints, dressings, and bandages as needed.
• Assist with check-in/check-out and audit charts.
• Maintain records including in-house lab work and drug screens.
• Keep patients and visitors informed of clinic progress.
