Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to support physicians and Advanced Practice Providers in delivering patient-centered care. You will participate in patient intake, rooming, and documentation, perform point-of-care tests, and assist with vaccines and medications as needed.

You will also help with appointment scheduling and maintaining medical records, while ensuring compliance with safety standards and practice policies.

Qualifications

• Provide care for a broad patient population across age groups as pertinent to the setting.
• Pre-visit planning with provider and care team.
• Venipuncture and in-office laboratory testing.
• Electronic documentation of care as directed by the provider.
• Maintain inventory of medications and supplies; ensure proper storage and handling.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates knowledge to care for newborn through geriatrics.
• Pre-visit planning with provider and care team.
• Assist with patient intake and rooming as per practice protocol.
• May assist with injections and medication administration.
• Check vital signs, height, weight, and review medication history.
