Job summary

AltaMed is seeking a Medical Assistant II to serve as an ambassador in our clinic, PSC, or Patient Registry team. You will deliver direct patient care, perform routine procedures, and support back-office tasks within the clinical setting.

Your role includes documenting in the EHR and mentoring staff to uphold high care standards. The position requires a MA certificate with a HS diploma, 1 year of back-office MA experience, and BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Medical Assistant certificate with high school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 1 year back-office MA experience preferred in outpatient/clinic settings.
• Phlebotomy certified preferred.
• National MA certification preferred.
• Bilingual English/Spanish/Mandarin/Cantonese depending on location strongly preferred.
• Valid BLS certification (or higher) required per AHA/Red Cross guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Assist in direct patient care and clinical support.
• Document all specialties in the EHR and assist with back-office processes.
• Mentor and train Medical Assistant team to achieve department goals.
• Provide exceptional patient experience by managing expectations with compassion and respect.
• Support additional duties at the Patient Service Center as needed.
