Job summary

AltaMed Health Services is seeking an MA II at a clinic, PSC, or Patient Registry team. The MA will welcome patients, manage expectations with compassion, perform routine patient care procedures, and support back-office processes while documenting in the EHR.

The role emphasizes a mentoring/training posture for the Medical Assistant team and may include telephone duties at the Patient Service Center. Bilingual skills are highly valued and a valid BLS is required.

Qualifications

• A Medical Assistant certificate, along with a high school diploma or equivalent required.
• A minimum of 1 year of experience as a back office Medical Assistant preferred in outpatient/clinic settings.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred.
• National MA certification preferred.
• Bilingual English/Spanish/Mandarin/Cantonese depending on location strongly preferred.
• A valid BLS certification or higher required per AHA/Red Cross guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care and perform routine clinical procedures and clerical support.
• Document all specialties in the EHR and assist with administrative responsibilities.
• Mentor and train fellow Medical Assistants and support Nursing Supervisor/Manager.
