Job summary

Mass General Brigham is seeking a Medical Assistant to support healthcare teams with clinical and non-clinical patient services at our onsite location in Newton, MA. The role focuses on patient comfort, flow, and collaboration with physicians and nursing staff.

The position requires 1–2 years of MA experience, High School Diploma or equivalent (Assoc. degree preferred), BLS and CMA certifications preferred, and about 40 hours per week with daytime shifts.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; Medical Assisting degree preferred.
• 1–2 years direct MA or medical field experience required.
• BLS certification and CMA preferred.

Responsibilities

• Show patients to examination rooms and prepare equipment for providers.
• Interview patients, obtain medical information, and record vitals, weight and height.
• Explain procedures and instructions, and organize patient education materials.
• Answer phones, take dictation, and complete insurance forms while liaising with departments.
• Collect blood and other specimens; perform phlebotomy if competent.
• Maintain immunization inventory and monitor expiration dates.
• Support quality initiatives and hand hygiene compliance.
