Job summary

Mass General Brigham is seeking a Medical Assistant to support healthcare teams with clinical and non-clinical patient services. Responsibilities include taking vital signs, documenting information, scheduling, and managing patient flow, while collaborating with physicians, nurse practitioners, and staff to ensure efficient care.

The role requires a High School diploma or equivalent, 1–2 years of MA experience, and BLS.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate degree in Medical Assisting preferred.
• 1–2 years of direct MA or medical field experience required.
• BLS certification required; CMA/NCCT or similar credential preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist junior MAs with onboarding and learning during training.
• Show patients to exam rooms, prepare equipment, take vital signs, and document in the EMR.
• Explain procedures and medications, and organize patient education materials.
• Perform general office duties, answer phones, complete insurance forms, and liaise with other departments to advocate for patients.
• Collect blood and other specimens, log samples, and prepare for testing; assist with phlebotomy if competent.
• Maintain immunization inventory and check expiration dates; support departmental quality initiatives.
