Job summary

UMass Memorial Health in Sturbridge, MA invites qualified Medical Assistant II professionals to join our per diem team. Under the direction of a licensed clinician, you’ll support clinic operations by taking vitals, performing EKGs, phlebotomy, injections, and clerical tasks to keep the office running smoothly.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Medical Assistant credential approved by MA health authorities.
• Current BLS or Heart Saver certification, obtained within 3 months if not on hire.

Responsibilities

• Escort patients to exam rooms and record vital signs accurately.
• Perform EKGs, phlebotomy, and Point of Care tests per protocols.
• Prepare and administer non-intravenous injections as directed.
• Support routine physical examinations and clinic procedures.
• Review labs and escalate abnormal results to clinicians promptly.
• Maintain patient records and assist with scheduling and referrals.
