Job summary

UMass Memorial Health in Sturbridge is seeking a Medical Assistant II to support providers in a busy clinic. Under licensed supervision, you will perform clinical care and essential clerical duties to help the office run smoothly.

You will collect vital signs, perform EKGs and phlebotomy, manage patient records, and assist with injections and medications as directed. A commitment to compassionate patient care is essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) or Heart Saver (HS) certification from AHA or ARC.
• Medical Assistant credential approved by MA Department of Health.

Responsibilities

• Escort patients to examination rooms and record vital signs.
• Perform EKGs, phlebotomy, and Point of Care tests.
• Assist with injections and routine physical examinations.
• Maintain and document patient records and scheduling.
• Collaborate with insurers for pre-authorization as required.
