Job summary

The Christ Hospital is seeking a Medical Assistant II for the Kenwood Internal Medicine site. The role combines front-office scheduling with clinical MA duties under physician direction to support efficient patient flow and accurate documentation.

Responsibilities include chart preparation in EMR, vital signs, medication management, and basic procedures such as phlebotomy and EKG. Strong computer and interpersonal skills are essential; travel to other offices may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree and/or Certified/Registered MA preferred.
• 2 to 5 years MA or relevant experience preferred; practice in different care settings (eg. Primary care, Specialty, EMT, etc.).
• Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Outlook, Excel, EMR and scheduling systems) and strong verbal and social skills; willing to travel to other physician offices as requested.

Responsibilities

• Scheduler front desk duties with MA duties as needed.
• Assist in examination and treatment under physician direction.
• Maintain patient flow and review systems; document vitals and medical history in EMR.
• Prepare patient charts in EMR for visits; gather test results and records for physician review.
• Refill medications and pre-authorize medications; manage patient samples and disposables.
• Operate EKG and other diagnostic equipment; perform phlebotomy and minor procedures as assigned.
