Job summary

The Christ Hospital Health Network is seeking a Medical Assistant to support physicians in examination and treatment, maintain patient flow, and manage EMR documentation. The role includes updating patient histories, recording vitals, preparing charts, and assisting with daily clinic operations.

Responsibilities cover chart preparation, medication refills, testing support (EKG), supply management, and coordination of appointments and pre-certifications.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent; Associate degree and/or Certified/Registered MA preferred; MA program graduate or prior MA experience required.
• 2–5 years MA or relevant experience preferred; diverse care setting experience beneficial.
• Excellent computer skills with Outlook, Excel; proficiency with EMR/scheduling systems required.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with patients, physicians, and staff.

Responsibilities

• Maintain patient flow during clinic hours and document review of systems.
• Record vital signs and update patient history in EMR.
• Prepare charts for visits by scanning and abstracting records.
• Refill medications and pre-authorize prescriptions as needed.
• Prepare treatment rooms and order medical supplies.
• Answer calls, schedule appointments, and handle front-desk tasks.
• May train new employees and act as Super User for EMR.
