Job summary

The Christ Hospital Health Network is seeking a Medical Assistant to support physicians in examination and treatment, manage patient flow, and maintain EMR documentation. The role involves chart preparation, test coordination, and routine clinical duties including phlebotomy and basic EKGs.

Candidates should have 2–5 years of MA experience, a high school diploma or higher, and proficiency with EMR/EHR and scheduling systems. BLS certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent; Associate Degree and/or Certified/Registered MA preferred.
• Years of Experience: 2 to 5 years MA or other relevant experience preferred; practice in different care settings recommended.
• Required Skills and Knowledge: Proficient computer skills (Outlook, Excel, EMR, scheduling systems); strong verbal and social skills; able to travel to other offices as needed; clinical skills such as phlebotomy, EKG, stitches removal, splinting are preferred.
• Licenses & Certifications: Certified/Registered MA preferred; BLS certification required or preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists in examination and treatment of patients under physician direction.
• Maintains patient flow, documents history, and updates medication lists in the EMR.
• Prepares patient charts in EMR and ensures all tests and records are available for the physician.
• Refills medications and pre-authorizes as needed; manages samples and disposes expired meds.
• Ensures a safe, clean, and confidential work environment and adheres to legal requirements for medical assistants.
