Job summary

The Christ Hospital is seeking a Medical Assistant to support patient care under physician direction in Cincinnati. You will help manage patient flow, document vitals, update medical histories, and ensure accurate EMR records.

Responsibilities include chart preparation, medication refills and pre-authorizations, check-in/out tasks, and coordinating with pharmacies and insurers. A MA program graduate or 2–5 years of experience is preferred, with strong computer skills and BLS.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent; Associate Degree and/or Certified/Registered MA preferred.
• 2–5 years MA or relevant experience preferred; practice in different care settings.
• Excellent computer skills (Outlook, Excel, EMR and scheduling systems) required; strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in examination and treatment under physician direction.
• Maintain patient flow during clinic hours; review systems and vitals; update medical histories and medication lists.
• Record information in EMR and prepare charts for visits; review outside records as needed.
• Refill medications and pre-authorize as needed; coordinate with patient, pharmacy, and insurer.
• Manage patient check-ins/outs; schedule appointments; handle pre-certifications for prescriptions, procedures, and surgeries.
• Operate EKG, cardiac monitors, phlebotomy, and other clinical duties as assigned.
• Maintain safe, confidential patient care environment and adhere to legal requirements.
