Job summary

Atrius Health, part of the Optum family, seeks a Medical Assistant II to support clinicians and patient care across multiple departments in eastern Massachusetts.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 3+ years in a clinical setting with 1+ years as a Medical Assistant.

Responsibilities

• Maintains a higher degree of technical expertise and serves as a resource to Medical Assistants.
• Manages patient flow, access and scheduling to optimize appointment availability.
• Coordinates the practice when clinicians are unavailable and ensures calls are answered appropriately.
• Sorts and reviews clinician mail and screens MyHealth messages.
• Monitors practice issues and resolves concerns regarding patient satisfaction and workflow.
• Assists in documenting patient information and obtaining prior authorizations.
• Trains and orients new staff as needed; may participate in interviewing and onboarding.
• May rotate across departments as a float position.
