Job summary

Atrius Health, part of the Optum family, seeks a Medical Assistant II to support clinicians across multiple departments in eastern Massachusetts. You will help with patient flow, scheduling, documentation, and communication with patients while contributing to a trusted care environment.

Qualifications

• High School/GED.
• 3+ years in a clinical setting with at least one year as a Medical Assistant (bachelor's or associate degree may substitute for one year of experience).

Responsibilities

• Maintains a higher degree of technical expertise than Medical Assistant I and serves as role model to Medical Assistant I's.
• Manages patient flow, access and scheduling for clinicians to optimize patient appointment availability.
• Manages clinicians' daily schedule to expedite care and maximize clinical time.
• Coordinates the practice when clinicians are unavailable and ensures calls are answered properly.
• Monitors practice issues and resolves concerns regarding patient satisfaction and compliance with procedures.
• Handles patients and third party requests for documentation of medical information.
• Completes forms for visits and verifies prior authorizations.
• May serve as departmental float rotating among departments and participate in care improvement activities.
